A 19-year-old guy has been accused of setting his own apartment on fire late at night.

According to Queensland police, the guy was accused after a fire broke out overnight at a residence in the Annerley suburb of inner-Brisbane.

On Friday night at 11 p.m., the guy is accused of setting items in his apartment on fire. The fire swiftly spread across the whole building.

A 19-year-old purposefully set the fire that sent a huge cloud of smoke into Brisbane’s starry night sky, according to the police.

Emergency services swarmed to the inner-city Brisbane residence after the fire started inside a “Queenslander” divided into four sections (shown).

The four-story “Queenslander” house has been divided into four flats.

The guy was arrested right afterwards, and the fire did not result in any casualties.

He will be himself in front of Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Fire response personnel (seen in the photo) put out the raging fire before it could endanger anybody inside the structure or in the area.
