River 94.9FM’s Paul “Campo” Campion delivers a statement in response to statements that were “transphobic.”

Paul “Campo” Campion came under fire for his remarks on the Marnie & Campo breakfast program on River 94.9FM, which airs in south-east Queensland.

The Queensland government’s policy that allows transgender kids to select a bathroom, according to Mr. Campion, is unconstitutional.

The Courier Mail reports that he also commented on the genitalia of transsexual students.

He revealed live on radio that a transgender student, age 13, and his 14-year-old daughter shared a restroom.

Sam and Georgia are the two children of Mr. Campion.

On Friday, Mr. Campion apologized for any offense he may have caused and stated that he was “trying to learn” about the situation, but he was unrepentant about his motivations.

“There is not much I can do about that if you consider my protection and thoughts about my daughter as transphobic,” he stated.

“We may all learn something from this, but it’s about everyone’s feelings, not just those of one particular group. My feelings were solely focused on defending my baby.”

He acknowledged that “education and understanding” will aid in advancing the discussion.

Members of a parents organization sent letters of protest to the station in response to Mr. Campion’s remarks, which drew harsh criticism.

The founder of the social media support community Parents of Transgender Kids, Michelle Inns, deemed Ms. Campion’s opening remarks to be “very inappropriate.”

She continued by saying it was incorrect to assume that transgender kids would pose a threat to other kids.

The manager of River 94.9FM, David Wiltshire, said that Mr. Campion’s remarks did not violate the standards of conduct for commercial radio.

He did, however, state that the conversation shouldn’t have happened live and that he was “very disappointed” that it occurred.

The station’s workers, he claimed, had received sensitivity instruction on how to talk about transgender problems.
