President Muhammadu Buhari offers his condolences to the Oluwasanmi family of Ipetu Ijesa, Osun State, on the passing of Chief Oyekunle Oluwasanmi, their adored father and grandfather, at the age of 85.

President Buhari recognises Chief Oluwasanmi’s contributions to serving his country as a member of the Committee for States and Local Governments that established the six states in 1996 and as Area Administrator with the Nigerian Customs Service before his appointment as Minister of State for Power and Steel that same year. Additionally, he served as the News Agency of Nigeria’s board chairman (NAN).

According to the President, “Chief Oluwasanmi, the renowned technocrat, administrator and highly respected community leader, continued to participate actively in faith-based organisations and social community development after his public life, stressing the essence of togetherness and strong family values.”

He prays that God the Almighty grant the former minister’s soul rest and give comfort to his loved ones, friends, and coworkers at this difficult time.
