Reportedly Intoxicated Driver Crashes After Falling Asleep in Verulam – KZN

A light vehicle struck a tree at the Wick & Ireland Street intersection in Verulam, KZN, however no injuries were recorded.

Around 21:14, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) personnel arrived on the scene. Reaction Officers were informed by the driver that he fell asleep just before his white VW Golf struck the tree. Although it wasn’t immediately clear on the scene, he was accused of driving while intoxicated.

Both the driver and his companion were unharmed.
