On some days, the goal is to safely introduce new life into the world.

A taxi driver called IPSS Medical Rescue earlier today after one of his customers went into labour while being transported from Inanda to Mandeni.

When IPSS Medical workers stopped the taxi on the side of the N2 and examined the passenger, they concluded there was not enough time to take the woman to the hospital. Instead, the woman gave birth to her daughter in the ambulance without incident.

The mother, her 10-year-old daughter, and her newborn daughter were all taken in good condition and securely to a facility close by.

Congratulations to the mother on the delivery of a healthy girl and outstanding effort by the teams on the scene.
