Erin Mae Denny, a Leeds resident, was chatting with a BBC reporter who asked passersby for their thoughts on yesterday afternoon’s announcement of the PM’s departure.

Yesterday, Boris Johnson formally announced his resignation from his position. The Prime Minister attempted to use a positive tone in a statement from Downing Street as he acknowledged that his MPs ‘obviously’ desire a change and that his term in power will expire when a new Tory leader is elected.

In response to the reporter, Ms Denny said: ‘I didn’t even know he resigned. I’ve just finished work, so. Well, that’s a bit of good news for the day I suppose isn’t it.’

Many others on Twitter loved her laid-back demeanor and northern accent, and one person uploaded a video of her while also writing, “Thinking about this queen.”
