Today, the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) report from Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a provider of vital digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, was made public for the first time.

Vertiv’s approach to diversity, equality, and inclusion (DE&I), employee health and safety, and other ESG-related issues is described in the report.

The information presented in the report acts as a foundation for the organization’s future work.

“We all know how critical connectivity is to our daily lives and the global economy.

The world’s appetite for data continues to rise, and our solutions keep data systems on and connected.

At the same time, we recognize the current and potential impacts of climate change,” said Rob Johnson, Vertiv CEO.

“We are seeking to meet the growing demand for critical digital infrastructure, and simultaneously mitigate environmental impacts from our operations and products.

As a result, we’re innovating to come up with more efficient and effective ways to support critical digital infrastructure.”

Senior leaders from across the organization make up Vertiv’s ESG Executive Steering Committee, which is in charge of overseeing the company’s evaluation of ESG performance.

The following are a few of the initiatives and outcomes that the report highlights: the release of new and improved products with high water and energy efficiency features, with the release of additional products scheduled for the upcoming months and years.

Participation in a number of industry alliances, such as the EcoEdge PrimePower Project (E2P2), the Sustainable Digital Infrastructure Alliance (SDIA), the European Data Centre Association (EUDCA), and the RISE Partnership Program, that target data center efficiency and emissions.

Vertiv’s Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions were examined internally.

To assist the company in reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions, performance and improvement standards are being developed.

Based on the total reportable injury rate reported to the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, there has been a 12 percent decrease in recordable injuries over the previous year (TRIR).

Provide training opportunities to enhance the organization’s global focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion

Several women have been appointed to executive roles within the corporation in the past two years, including Stephanie Gill, Chief Legal Counsel, and Sheryl Haislet, Chief Information Officer.

“As the EU is a global leader for sustainability goals and regulation, this report is especially relevant for Vertiv in EMEA, where it will amplify regional momentum and enhance our sustainability growth goals in MEA,” said Karsten Winther, EMEA president for Vertiv.

“We must follow a double-pronged approach, to align with growing industry demand whilst simultaneously ensuring our strategy promotes responsible practice.”
