A group of teenage girls have allegedly brazenly stolen a car, takes it on a joy ride around Brisbane while livestreaming the stunt to friends

A ute is said to have been brazenly stolen by a group of teenage girls, who then drove it about Brisbane while livestreaming the stunt to friends online.

On Tuesday night, the three girls reportedly stole Craig Pendlebury’s luggage as it was sitting on the side of the sports field while he was coaching an Aussie rules football team in Kedron, in the city’s north.

His son, who was distraught, reportedly ran over to tell him their car had vanished after the girls allegedly stole the keys and sped off in his Toyota Hilux.

The girls allegedly shared live footage of themselves driving down a busy route on Instagram after the father unsuccessfully attempted to pursue the car as it took off.

Mr Pendlebury, who has yet to find his car, says the incident has left him in disbelief.

‘Just why? Why would you do it?’ he told 7NEWS.

‘It was quite harrowing… To see the reaction on my eldest son’s face when he came back and had to give me the bad news, “hey Dad your car’s been stolen”. He was pretty upset, just that he couldn’t do more.’

Footage posted online allegedly shows the girls, who are believed to be 15, driving through Brisbane’s north.

Mr Pendlebury stated that parents have been known to leave their cars open while attending training at the oval, with keys and wallets frequently left on the field.

The coach stated that the trio appeared inconspicuous because there are always girls watching the boy’s games, and he was still surprised that the alleged crime occurred at the busy sports venue in front of parents.

‘When you see a couple of girls just walking around the field you don’t think anything of it,’ he said.

Mr. Pendlebury has reported the incident to police, who have started investigation.
