10 Month Old Baby Stabbed Twice in Cottonlands – KZN

Reaction Unit SA (RUSA) reports a stabbbing where a 10 month old girl sustained two deep lacerations to her left thigh after her she and her 19 year old mother were confronted by three unknown males at their home in Cottonlands – KZN afternoon (Sunday).

The teenager was returning from a friend’s home after watching a movie. She was carrying the baby when she was confronted by three men who were waiting for her inside her house.

One of the men stabbed the child twice on her thigh with a broken bottle before her mother screamed for help. The suspects fled after they noticed members of the community approaching the house. Residents pursued the men however they managed to evade capture.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for medical assistance for the child at 19:08. Reaction Officers & RUSA Medics were immediately dispatched to the scene. On arrival, the mother informed Officers that she believed that the men intended on raping her.

The child was treated for her injuries before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
