Lil Wayne will not appear at the Strawberries and Creem festival

Lil Wayne was refused admittance into the UK ahead of the Strawberries & Creem festival.

On Saturday, the rapper was set to headline the Strawberries & Creem festival, which would have marked his first appearance in the UK in fourteen years.

“Any individual who has been sentenced to a custodial sentence of 12 months or more must have their application refused,” the UK Home Office said in a statement to Rolling Stone.

Strawberries & Creem also issued a statement in response to the situation. The statement reads, “We are deeply disappointed by this sudden and negative ruling.”

“We have received very minimal notice, and the timing of the decision is, of course, upsetting for all involved – including Lil Wayne’s fans, as well as the festival team.

“Across the weekend, we still have an incredible array of artists joining us.”

This is Wayne’s second event that he won’t be able to attend.

Due to a travel problem, his performance at the Governor’s Ball in New York City was replaced by A$AP Ferg, according to the festival.

Wayne’s refusal to enter the United Kingdom could be related to his December 2020 run-in.

In 2007, he pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm by a convicted felon as a result of weapons charges.

Wayne faced a potentially lengthy jail sentence of up to ten years, but on President Trump’s final full day in office in January 2021, he was granted a presidential pardon.
