BBC brain drain: Gemma Collins leaves: Ex-TOWIE star quits her ‘Love Lounge’

Gemma Collins, one of the BBC’s biggest names, is leaving her podcast in favor of a commercial agreement that pays five times her present wage.

The Gemma Collins Podcast has been one of the BBC’s most popular live broadcasts, with the most viewers aged 35 and under tuning in in 2020.

The Love Lounge, a spin-off program from the ex-TOWIE star, has also been a huge ratings hit.

Collins is thought to be leaving her show now, according to The Sun, after internal discussions with her supervisors regarding editorial authority.

Her departure comes after the departure of a number of well-known BBC journalists, including Emily Maitlis, Jon Sopel, Andrew Marr, and Dan Walker.

‘She has left the BBC because she was able to negotiate an incredible deal to move her podcast elsewhere,’ a source claimed.
