President Joe Biden will make his first in-studio late-night appearance as president later this week when he appears on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
On Sunday, Jimmy Kimmel tweeted, ‘Our very elected President @JoeBiden visits @JimmyKimmelLive Wednesday night.’ ‘No nonsense.’
The interview with Biden will run on ABC on Wednesday, June 8 at 11:35 p.m. ET.
This will be Biden’s first in-studio visit on a late-night talk program since his inauguration in January 2021.
Kimmel announced the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live: NBA Finals Game Night on Sunday.
The interview will take place at the El Capitan Entertainment Centre on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Biden last appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ in September 2019, during his Democratic Party presidential primary campaign.
In December 2021, Biden appeared on NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ but he did so virtually rather than in person.
In September 2019, he appeared on CBS’ ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.’
The interview comes at a time when Biden has been chastised for rarely holding press conferences.
Biden waited the longest of any president in the last nearly 100 years, 64 days, to host a formal question-and-answer session.
The liberal media has accused Biden of receiving ‘an easy ride,’ as well as ‘praising him’ or letting him get away with simple questions.
This week’s interview comes only days after Biden was spotted strolling down the beach on Saturday afternoon, as he continues to take the most vacations of any president in history.
The president, 79, was photographed strolling along the Delaware beachfront wearing dark-colored shorts, a navy blue polo shirt, and a baseball cap.
He was flanked by Secret Service agents, all of whom were dressed in polo shirts as they walked across the sand.
The president’s beach trip allows the pair to celebrate Jill Biden’s birthday outside of the White House, which was on Friday.
However, he is currently on track to take more vacation than any of his predecessors.
Without include this weekend’s excursion, Biden has spent 188 full or partial days away from the White House, either at his two Delaware homes, Camp David or on the Massachusetts island of Nantucket.
This is divided between 130 days at either Rehoboth or Wilmington, Delaware, 52 days at Camp David in Frederick, Maryland, and six days on the luxury island of Nantucket.
And, as of Sunday, Biden has been in office for 500 days, which means the president had spent more than one-third of his time in office on vacation.
At that rate, the president will be 550 days away from the White House in the four years of his first term, and 1,106 days for two terms.
During his one-term presidency, former President Donald Trump spent 381 days away from the White House, largely at his estates in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and Bedminster, New Jersey.
Former President Barack Obama took 328 vacation days over his two terms – or eight years – in office, which is 53 days fewer than Trump took in just half the time. Obama took 29 vacations totaling 235 days, as well as 39 visits to Camp David, totaling 93 full or half days away from the White House.
Biden’s predicted 1,106 vacation days over two terms will surpass George W. Bush’s previous record.
During his eight-year tenure, Bush Jr. spent 1,020 vacation days, choosing to spend time on his ranch in Texas rather than in Washington, D.C.
