Zara Tindall, Her Majesty’s granddaughter, confirmed that the Queen will be watching from her residence in ‘comfy clothes.’

Zara Tindall said this afternoon that the Queen is watching the Epsom Derby Day on the sofa in her ‘comfy clothing,’ while Princess Anne stepped in for the monarch alongside her family at the races on Saturday.

The Princess Royal was beaming from ear to ear at Epsom Racecourse as she and her family watched the Derby Day races in place of Her Majesty the Queen, who had to cancel one of her favorite occasions of the year due to illness.

Zara Tindall, the Queen’s granddaughter, said at the huge athletic event: ‘She will be watching on TV — she has a few runners today dispersed throughout the country, so she knows precisely what’s going on.’

‘She’ll just be sitting on the couch watching TV,’ says the narrator. She’ll be dressed in her favorite pajamas.’

‘It was incredible,’ Zara said of the royal procession entering via a guard of honour of 40 of the Queen’s former and present jockeys. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. All the retired ones were attempting to fit back into the colors, which was amusing to see.

‘Of course, we’d love to have her [The Queen] here. It’s good to be here, though. Epsom is a place I’ve never visited before. It’s thrilling. ‘I need to go exploring.’

The monarch, who is claimed to be ‘fine’ despite her withdrawal from one of her favorite events on Friday, is likely to watch the Epsom Derby Day on television from Windsor Castle, according to Buckingham Palace.

Her Majesty has been sent a souvenir racing card so she can keep track of the action from the comfort of her own home.

Anne, Princess Royal, is representing the Queen in her absence, having arrived in Epsom with her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence earlier this afternoon.
