Vehicle collision on the R30 at the Brandfort toll gate

Around 08:30, VRMED, Er24, and Mangaung Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a multiple vehicle collision on the R30 near the Brandfort toll gate.

When workers arrived, they discovered that a Fortuner SUV had collided with a stalled Volkswagen Golf that was waiting to pass through the toll gate with other vehicles.

The two passengers of the golf were found trapped inside the substantially damaged vehicle by VRMED and ER24, suffering significant injuries.

In order for paramedics to stabilize the patients, Mangaung Fire & Rescue had to use the jaws of life to free the occupants from the wreck.

Both were transported in critical condition to the Bloemfontein Medi Clinic.
