Football Analytics Leader Sofascore Teams Up with Iconic Brazilian Midfielder Zico to Revamp Player of the Season Award with Innovative Trophy Design Using Brazilian Soil

They’ve just rolled out a fresh take on their Player of the Season award, teaming up with one of Brazil’s most legendary footballers to give it a unique spin.

Sofascore has long been known for its in-depth statistical analysis, which has made their player ratings a gold standard worldwide.

Their revamped Player of the Season award now considers data from 50 different leagues around the globe.

This means the award truly reflects who’s been outstanding over an entire season.

The award has also received a makeover.

The new trophy is crafted using materials sourced from a Brazilian football field, incorporating elements like concrete and soil, adding a special touch to each award.

Top Performers from Euro 2024

The European Championship showcased some incredible talent, and it’s no surprise that a few standout players from the final have bagged the top awards for their leagues.

Jude Bellingham, with a stellar rating of 8.05, took home the LaLiga Player of the Season award.

Rodri followed closely with an 8.01 rating, earning the Premier League accolade, while Harry Kane, rated 7.76, was the top player in the Bundesliga.

In Serie A, Turkey’s Hakan Calhanoglu, with a 7.68 rating, was named the best player after leading Inter to the title.

Kylian Mbappe also impressed, securing the Ligue 1 award with a rating of 7.89.

A Special Partnership with Zico

This rebranding effort comes with a special collaboration with Brazilian football icon Zico.

Zico not only praised the new award but also worked with Sofascore to revamp a training pitch at his academy.

The soil from this pitch is used in the new trophies, symbolizing the foundational support of the football community.
