Leny Yoro has just landed in Manchester for his medical check-up, ahead of his anticipated move to Manchester United.

With a deal potentially finalizing in the next 48 hours, the excitement is building around Old Trafford.

United are eager to wrap up a £52 million transfer for the young French defender.

The initial bid of £42 million plus £10 million in add-ons for Yoro, who’s just 18, was accepted last week.

Despite some initial concern over Yoro’s apparent preference for Real Madrid, United have acted swiftly to seal the deal.

They are currently ironing out the details of a five-year contract, with an additional year as an option.

Previous and Current Interests

The Lille centre-back, who featured in 41 games last season, has also caught the eye of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

If the transfer goes through, Yoro will be United’s second signing of the summer, following the £36.5 million arrival of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

This would address two key areas United identified as priorities this transfer window.

Future Moves

United is still on the lookout for another centre-back.

They’ve been in discussions with Bayern Munich regarding Matthijs de Ligt, who is valued at £42 million, and have seen two bids, amounting to £50 million, for Jarrad Branthwaite turned down by Everton.

The club’s ability to bring in new players may hinge on raising funds through player sales.

Raphael Varane’s departure as a free agent and Willy Kambwala’s £9.9 million transfer to Villarreal have opened up spots in the squad.

Transfer Market Activity

United have turned down an offer from Fulham for Scott McTominay, which was reportedly less than the £30 million bid West Ham made last year.

West Ham is also considering a £15 million offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United’s transfer strategy includes bringing in a defensive midfielder and a right-back, with decisions on McTominay and Wan-Bissaka potentially influenced by offers that meet their valuation and expectations.
