BREAKING: Benni McCarthy CONFIRMS Orlando Pirates return

This is the news all Pirates fans have been craving to hear. McCarthy has just confirmed that he will coach the Bucs!

“Maybe one day [I’ll coach Pirates], I’ll be back home where I belong. One day, I’ll be home,” McCarthy stated on Goal.

This is huge news for Pirates. The timing is what is particularly interesting as it comes shortly after Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids failed to win the CAF Confederation Cup. This, amidst rumours that their jobs were on the line.

Now, the man that every Bucs fan wants to replace them has stated that he will be back home one day.

Meaning, he will coach Pirates in the future but how soon?

“The decisions aren’t up to me, it’s the Pirates board that has to make those decisions. One of these days it may happen,” McCarthy explained.

The decision lies with Pirates management and McCarthy. There is a high possibility that he could replace Ncikazi and Davids very soon. They are both still currently the interim coaches at the time of publication.

However, this could change in coming weeks…
