Kaizer Chiefs closing in on former Orlando Pirates starlet’s signature!

Kaizer Chiefs are closing on a headline signing ahead of the 2022/23 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

According to reports, the Amakhosi have made great progress in their quest to sign a highly talented 26-year-old Bafana Bafana midfielder!

Sekhukhune United’s star midfielder Yusuf Maart, a former Orlando Pirates academy graduate, is reportedly Kaizer Chiefs bound!

“Kaizer Chiefs are closing in on Sekhukhune United and Bafana Bafana midfielder Yusuf Maart” a SoccerLaduma report read.

“Throughout the 2021/22 season, Maart has been closely monitored by Chiefs and other potential suitors.

“According to close sources, an offer has been tabled by the Soweto giants in pursuit of the former Orlando Pirates development player.

“With the indications that the offer from Kaizer Chiefs is going to be accepted by Sekhukhune, as things stand.”

“Expect Yusuf Maart to join Chiefs at the end of the season from Sekhukhune United.” a source told the same publication.

“The talks have been ongoing behind the scenes and things look promising between all the parties involved and the announcement is expected to be made at the end of the season.”

Amakhosi complete signing of star defender!

Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker all but confirmed that Zitha Kwinika will be joining Kaizer Chiefs.

“I’d like to wish Zitha well. He’s going back to his boyhood club, where he’s developed,” Barker said as quoted by IDiskiTimes.

“Zitha will go back to Kaizer Chiefs, he deserves everything of the best. We wish him well, but be aware, we’re coming for you next season.”

While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, according to Transfermarkt. The 28-year-old defender is valued at approximately R12 million.

Considering the fact that Kwinika’s the captain and arguably one of the most important Stellenbosch players. It’s hard to believe they’d let their star join Kaizer Chiefs for a ‘bargain’!
