Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane and his MT Sports Marketing & Management agency grabbed the headlines with a big announcement this week.

Mosimane on Wednesday confirmed via his agency – which is run by his wife Moira Thlagale – that he would be opening the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools in Mzansi.

“The Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools (PMSS) are part of coach Pitso’s legacy of not only creating the player of tomorrow but also ensuring that he contributes towards football in South Africa for it to go back to the level of excellence that we know it to be, and most importantly reaching new heights,” Tlhagale said in a statement.

Gavin Hunt congratulated his ‘friend’ Pitso Mosimane

The aim is to change the landscape of local football by introducing a holistic approach to player development from school level in the country.

A number of influential figures took to social media to compliment the 57-year-old for the initiative.

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt and current Amakhosi goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune were just two of many to send messages of congratulations to Pitso Mosimane.
