‘There are challenges,’ Pelosi acknowledged, blaming new strains of Covid-19 and ‘other factors’ that had log jammed the supply chain and lead to 40 year-high inflation, running at 8.3 percent as of April.
She also tore into Republicans who oppose to two bills the House passed Wednesday night– one that provides $28 million in emergency funding for baby formula, which passed with only 12 votes from Republicans and one that expands formula access for WIC recipients, which passed with all but nine Republican votes.
‘What’s the objection? That we don’t want to spend money on babies who are crying for food? Okay, let’s have that debate,’ she quipped on Thursday.
