Orlando Pirates are closing in on first MAJOR signing!

Orlando Pirates have agreed a deal in principle to sign a star defender from PSL rivals AmaZulu FC according to reports!

The Buccaneers are looking to blood in some talent in their defence given the ages of Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Happy Jele and AmaZulu’s captain Tapelo Xoki fits the part!

According to reports, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu have already agreed terms for the Usuthu captain and the 27-year-old is set to join the club in July!

“Orlando Pirates are on the verge of concluding a deal with AmaZulu for the transfer of key defender Tapelo Xoki.” an SABCSport report read.

“According to those privy to information regarding the imminent deal, Xoki still had at least three years on his Usuthu contract.

“This suggests then that Pirates would have to either pay a transfer fee or offer one or two players in exchanges to sweeten the talks.

“SABC Sport also understands that both parties have however, agreed a transfer in principle. If the move goes ahead, as expected, Xoki will be added to an experienced Orlando Pirates line up.

“This lineup of centre backs includes captain Happy Jele, Olisa Ndah, Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Thulani Hlatshwayo, who has been out of fair over the last few months.”

Bucaneers chasing 18-year-old star’s signature!

In other transfer news, the Buccaneers have reportedly set their sights on Chippa United’s impressive 18-year-old winger Azola Matrose.

Matrose has made 12 appearances for the Chilli Boys this season while scoring and assisting once each.

“Orlando Pirates have set their sights on one of the most exciting midfielders to emerge in the PSL as a transfer target.” – a SoccerLaduma report read.

“Azola Matrose is already attracting interest from one of the biggest clubs in the country.

“The teenager, who joined the Chilli Boys in July last season, has been one of the standout players for coach Kurt Lentjies’ squad this campaign.

“Sources close to Chippa management have indicated to the Siya crew that the left-footed attacker is being monitored by Orlando Pirates with a view of adding him to the Sea Robbers’ squad next season.”
