BREAKING: Orlando Pirates reach CAF Confederation Cup final

Soweto giants Orlando Pirates will contest this season’s CAF Confederation Cup final.

The Buccaneers are one victory away from their first piece of silverware this season after beating Libyan side Al Ahly Tripoli 2-1 on aggregate.

Orlando Pirates lost at home

Orlando Pirates won the first leg of their semi-final 2-0 in Libya, with Al Ahly Tripoli snatching a late goal to win the second leg at the Orlando Stadium 1-0 on Sunday.

Defender Ali Abu Arqoub scored the 90th minute goal, but it wasn’t enough to see Al Ahly Tripoli through to the final.

Orlando Pirates will play the winner of the second semi-final between the DR Congo’s TP Mazembe and RS Berkane of Morocco.

Those two sides will battle in their semi-final second leg at 21:00 (SA time) on Sunday.

TP Mazembe hold a 1-0 advantage after the first leg.

The final will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria on Friday, 20 May.

The kick-off time is yet to be confirmed.
