Kaizer Chiefs are set to welcome their goalkeeper Bontle Molefe back from Belgium-based outfit Royal Antwerp this weekend.

Molefe had his final training session with Antwerp on Thursday to end his one month-long trial with the club, and he’s now set to return to South Africa.

Molefe jetted off to Belgium alongside Mduduzi Shabalala on 12 April, and his trial was only scheduled to last for a month.

And the month has now elapsed, meaning Molefe will be returning to Chiefs to continue with his football while waiting for feedback from Antwerp.

WHO IS KAIZER CHIEFS GOALKEEPER KARABO MOLEFE?

Molefe is a 19-year-old goalkeeper who was handed a first team contract at the age of 16 by Chiefs but continued to feature for the reserve team.

And that’s because, at the time, Molefe was still a scholar, and he struggled to juggle both his studies and playing football at the highest level.

Born in Mondeor, Molefe started his football career at amateur side Mondeor Meteors before joining Jabez Football Club at a later stage.

His breakthrough to academy football came when Mpumalanga Black Aces Academy signed him but it is at the Chiefs Youth Development Academy where he really raised his game.

Molefe stands at 1.90 meter tall, and his height and physique meet the minimum requirements for goalkeepers scouted by European teams.
