It’s official, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin – created by singer Rihanna – are coming to South Africa!

The star made the news in a social media announcement on Tuesday 10 May to the delight of African beauty lovers

Rihanna tweeted: “I’ve been waiting for this moment! @fentybeauty & @fentyskin are finally dropping in AFRICA!

“Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe…we coming at ya May 27th and that’s just the beginning!!! #FentyAfrica”.

According to Fenty Beauty, the coveted products will be sold in Edgars Beauty and Arc Stores later this month

Founded in 2017 by Rihanna, Fenty has been celebrated for its inclusivity in catering to all skin shades and types.

And South African consumers on Twitter were thrilled at the announcement.

Counterfeit Fenty Beauty, along with have other products like Kylie Cosmetics, Huda Beauty, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and many others are being sold on the black market in South Africa and around the continent.

But buying fake or “designer dupes” poses a health hazard, claims experts

“Counterfeit cosmetics have an alarming number of potentially infection-causing bacteria that can lead to scarring, burning, and disfigurement”, dermatologist Dr. Bobby Buka told Healthline.com.
