‘Legendary moment’: Zola 7 joins Cassper on stage for ‘Bonginkosi’ [watch]

Rappers Cassper Nyovest and Zola 7 have formed an incredible relationship over the years. Cassper featured Zola on his 2020 album, Any Minute Now on two songs, Hlengiwe and Bonginkosi. On Sunday 1 May, the 48-year-old rapper surprised Cassper on stage in Rustenburg for a performance of Bonginkosi. The crowd roared as Zola walked on stage and Cassper kneeled down to him.

This comes after the legendary rapper confirmed he’ll be heading to rehab after he completes his upcoming album.

Speaking on his Any Minute Now sessions in 2020, Cassper said his first collaboration with Zola “had to be perfect”. The legendary rapper, along with Cassper and his producing team, crafted Bonginkosi and Hlengiwe.

“When he said these words to me and said I’m not for sale, I should never f*ck up my energy, it let me know that I was in the right lane,” said Cassper.

“I’m definitely working towards, where I’m supposed to be working towards and the fact that he says you know, I’m still intact.”

ZOLA 7 SURPRISES CASSPER ON STAGE

On 1 May, Zola 7 surprised Cassper Nyovest at his performance in Rustenburg. The crowd went wild as the star rappers performed their heartwarming hit Bonginkosi.

“Last night I decided to gate crash Cassper Nyovest’s performance in Rustenberg. We did Bonginkosi and the crowd went wild,” wrote Zola on Twitter.

Reacting to the heartwarming moment on stage, one tweep described the performance as a “legendary hip-hop moment”.
