The Minister of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Malam Muhammad Bello has urged Muslims to practice the lessons of the just concluded month of Ramadan.

The Minister gave the advice while addressing Journalists shortly after observing the Eid prayer and the National Eid Ground, on Monday in Abuja.

The minister emphasized the need for Muslims and all Nigerians to continue to pray for the unity, security and economic prosperity of the country.
He commended the Federal Government and leadership of the security agencies  for all the hard work they are doing  to ensure that citizens and the country was safe.
Bello also thanked the entire residents of FCT for their support to President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government and also for their support to the FCT Administration.
According to him, “First and foremost, we thank Allah, the most high for having made it possible for us to come out today to celebrate the Eid-al-fitr prayer.
“As you can see for many years, I think the kind of gathering we saw today has been unprecedented and this is all as a mark of appreciation and thanks to God Almighty.
“Because two years ago we couldn’t come out for Eid. As a matter of fact even last year the number of people that came out were really very minimal because of COVID-19.
“So, we need to thank Allah almighty that has shown us this day and also makes us to conquer the COVID-19.
“As the Imam said in his sermon Ramadan represent a watershed in the life of a Muslim. During the last 30 days, we have prayed, fast and solicited to Allah to provide all our needs for us.
“So, the most important thing now going forward is for us to practicalize all what we learn during the last one month, thank God almighty, appreciate the government and the leadership of the security agencies for all the hard work they are doing  to ensure that we are safe.”
Earlier in his sermon, the Murshid of Abuja National Mosque, Prof. Shehu Galadanci, who led the two raka’at prayer, admonished Muslims to fear Allah continue to uphold the virtues of Ramadan.
Galadanci also prayed for the end insecurity and other challenges bedeviling the country.
