SAB donates R500 000 to relief efforts following KZN flooding

South African Breweries (SAB) has joined a number of company in pledging donations to assist relief efforts in KwaZulu-Natal.

SAB says the bulk of its R500 000 donation will go to humanitarian aid organisation, Gift of the Givers, which is assisting communities devastated by the recent flood damage.

SAB’s Prospecton Brewery, Plant Manager, Raidah Vaid says, “SAB has donated R500 000 from our Castle Lager brand team, majority of which would go to Gift of the Givers in order to give to the people, mostly destitute right now. Because of the value chain been part of the liquor industry. We are also donating funds to the KZNB liquor board in terms of food parcels for those liquor trading businesses that have been devastated by the floods and who depend on the establishment to survive. The owners, workers and their families.”
