PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN LAGOS TO RESUME FOR THIRD TERM ON MONDAY

The Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance, a ministry of education body, has stated that all public and private schools in the state will reopen on Monday, April 25th, 2022, in accordance with the Y2021/2022 Harmonised Academic Calendar.

All Proprietors and Administrators must ensure that all students resume on that date, according to a statement signed by Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEAQ).

The Director-General stated that the Second Term Holiday began on Friday, April 8th, and ended on Friday, April 22nd, 2022, as stated in the Y2021/2022 academic calendar, adding that public holidays such as Workers Day, Eid-El-Fitr, and Eid-El-Kabir were taken into account and embedded in the academic calendar.

Mrs. Seriki-Ayeni urged parents to continue to watch their children’s actions at home as they prepare for resumption, advising students to avoid all sorts of social vices.

She also urged Proprietors and School Administrators to strictly adhere to the Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, emphasizing that all safety protocols on school grounds must be followed to ensure a safe learning environment, as the State Government remains committed to providing quality education.
