Liverpool FC has now book its place in the Emirates FA Cup Final against Chelsea or Crystal Palace after their surprising win over Manchester City today.
The Reds raced into a 3 goals lead in the match with a return effort from Machester City, however Liverpool FC kept up their winning spree.
Liverpool FC have lifted the trophy on seven occasions previously – with the last coming in 2006.
This is Liverpool’s 25th FA Cup semi-final appearance and their first under Jürgen Klopp. Only Manchester United (31), Arsenal (30), Chelsea and Everton (26 each) have appeared in more.
Liverpool have only been beaten by Manchester City in this competition in replays (five meetings). City have not beaten the Reds in the FA Cup since 1973. Since then, they have lost in 1988, 2001 and 2003.
The Reds have won all three of their FA Cup penalty shootouts, the last in the 2006 final against West Ham United. They have won 18 out of 25 in all competitions.
Klopp’s team is the first in the club’s history to reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and European Cup/Champions League in the same season.
