Chris Rock’s brother claims ‘he did know’ about Jada’s alopecia

Another Chris Rock sibling is coming for Will Smith, and this time he wants the actor to have his Oscar revoked following his scandalous slap at the awards ceremony last month

Hot on the heels of Chris’s brother Tony slamming the Oscars “Best Actor” winner, another sibling: Kenny is speaking out.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kenny – also an actor – “set the record straight” about his brother’s joke about Will’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Chris Rock infamously commented on Jada’s bald head, of which moments later, landed him a spicy slap from Will Smith

However Kenny claims Chris Rock “did not know” that Jada suffers from alopecia, an auto-immune illness that causes hair loss.

This, despite Jada making the revelation on her Instagram account in January.

CHRIS ROCK’S BROTHER DEFENDS JOKE

Speaking to Los Angeles Times, Kenny stressed that Chris Rock had no knowledge of Jada’s history with alopecia.

He said: “The joke was funny. It wasn’t hilarious funny, but I know that if he knew that she had alopecia … he wouldn’t make a joke about that. But he didn’t know.”

Kenny added that he was angered by Will Smith’s actions.

He continued: “It eats at me watching it over and over again because you’ve seen a loved one being attacked and there’s nothing you can do about it.

“Every time I’m watching the videos, it’s like a rendition that just keeps going over and over in my head. My brother was no threat to him and you just had no respect for him at that moment. You just belittled him in front of millions of people that watch the show”.

Chris Rock’s brother also claimed that he did not accept Will Smith’s apology. He continued: “No, I don’t accept it because I don’t think it was genuine. I think his publicist and the people that work under him probably advised him to do that.”

“I might have looked at it differently had he initially apologized when he got on the stage and cried and accepted the award, but he didn’t, so, right there that tells me that it is something else.”

‘REVOKE HIS OSCAR’

Kenny Rock is also calling for the Academy Awards to revoke Will Smith’s Oscar award for his role in King Richard.

He continued: “He should have been escorted out of there. I hold them accountable for that. He could have went up there and did anything you wanted to my brother. It could have been much worse than what he did.”

The Academy Awards have announced that Will Smith will face disciplinary action for violations of its standards of conduct. They also formally apologised to Chris Rock and guests.

Will Smith has also resigned from membership of the Academy Awards.
