Steve Hofmeyr Attacks LGBTQI+ Disney

Steve Hofmeyr, a controversial Afrikaans artist, has spoken out against Disney’s commitment to be more inclusive of the LGBTQI+ community in its films and television shows.

Hofmeyr claimed that Disney’s attitude risks teaching youngsters “how to have sex with mice, ducks, and dogs” in a now-deleted Facebook video posted on Friday, April 1.

STEVE HOFMEYR’S DISNEY RANT

Towards the end of March, Disney general entertainment president Karey Burke vowed that Disney would make an effort to make its content more LGBTQI+ inclusive.

“We have many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories and yet we don’t have enough leads and narratives in which gay characters just get to be characters and not have to be about gay stories,” said Burke in a Disney-wide meeting on Monay 28 March as per The New York Post.

In a clip criticising Disney, Steve Hofmeyr said: “While my generation learned to speak to mice, ducks and dogs, our children will be taught how to have sex with mice, ducks and dogs”.

“You think it’s weird, but let me tell you why I’m saying this. Those relationships with animals are part of that ‘+’ at the end of the LGBTQ; that includes those kinds of relationships with animals.”

STEVE HOFMEYR ‘CLARIFIES’ HIS STATEMENT

On Sunday, April 3rd, the 57-year-old musician took to Facebook to deny removing the video from his profile and to say that he “does not have a conflict” with the LGBTQI+ community.

“However, even among themselves, I can’t come to an agreement on who the ‘+’ in LGBTQI+ includes and excludes,” he added.

“Those who discriminate against LGBTQ+ people have taught the LGBTQ+ community how to discriminate against others.” Nobody appears to be truly inclusive here.”

“Maybe it’s time to remove the ‘+’ and admit that you have become exactly like your oppressors.”

Addressing Disney’s inclusion of more LGBTQI+ characters, Hofmeyr said he “attacked Disney” as the rest of the world did too.

“Unlike the LGBTQI+ community, I did not keep silent when Disney decided to sexualise our toddlers by sexualising their movie characters.”

‘YOU ARE MY EQUAL’

Hofmeyr goes on to say that he “couldn’t care less” about how individuals identify.

“You are my equal, but only until you infringe on other people’s rights.” And until you start sexualizing our toddlers for your own amusement. I’ll never cease questioning the woke little fascist pups in our midst.”
