Banky W to run for house of representatives

Banky W will be running for a seat in the lower house this time, under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The singer turned politician will be running under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Nigerian music star Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W is set to run for a seat in the house of representatives.

The singer made this known via his social media pages on Friday, April 1, 2022, where he shared a video.

“We must engage with Nigeria where it is, not where we prefer for it to be. In 2019, we planted the seed. In 2023, by the grace of God, and with your support, we will win the seat. The time for just talking is over. It’s time to #TalkAndDo. I hope I can count on you. We move,” he captioned the video.

The singer-turned politician and activist will be declaring his intentions on Saturday, April 2, at Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos state.

The news was largely received by both fans and industry colleagues.

He however lost the elections to Ibrahim Obanikoro of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
