Detectives Investigating Thursday Night Shooting Near Bitter Lake

Detectives are investigating after a man was shot in the leg Thursday evening in the Bitter Lake neighborhood.

Shortly before 10 p.m., a patrol officer traveling through the 1200 block of North 137th Street found a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg sitting on a curb . The man told officers that his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend approached him and shot him in the leg. The victim said the man then left the scene in an SUV.

Seattle Fire Department medics transported the man to Harborview Medical center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Homicide/Assault squad are now investigating and asking anyone with information to please call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000
