Amy Moore and Stu Watts took home $169,500 after winning The Block NZ: On Point in Hobsonville in 2018 and no-one was surprised – their house stood out as a clear winner right from the start.
It was the bigger corner townhouse, and the Gisborne couple’s clever colour combos, relaxing living spaces and spacious mezzanine office area appealed to everyone.
After the furnished house was sold at the live auction, for $1,009, 500, it was offered for rent. And now it has been listed once more as a rental, with Shannon Anstis of Ray White Austar Property Services. The rental asking price is $850 a week – it was listed at $820 back in 2018.
The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom house, at 27 Frances Bryer Road, has a new valuation of $1,340,000.
Back in 2018 Anstis told Stuff the property was bought by a friend of a Ray White agent, who planned to keep it as a rental.
From day one, Amy and Stu were singled out as the favourites with the judges, interior designer Jason Bonham and magazine editor Kristina Rapley. At times it seemed Team Gizzy could do no wrong.
Every room reveal was a “wow” moment for Bonham in particular. He loved Amy’s “on point” styling and Stu’s finishing – the painting was perfect on most occasions.
Notable successes for the duo included their pink and gold girl’s room, which has a hidden attic playroom, and their black, white and mustard family bathroom that the judges could not fault.
Anstis says furniture and decorative objects shown in the current listing photos may or may not be included in the furniture package.
