NPFL: Chisom Chikatara Rejoins Abia Warriors, Akwa Signs Nwaeze

There have been some transfers during the mid-season break of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), as striker Chisom Chikatara has returned to Abia Warriors for his second spell, while Christopher Nwaeze joined champions Akwa United.

Chikatara, 27, last played for Indian side Gokulam Kerala FC whom he joined in September 2021.

Chikatara’s addition will bring much needed fire power and experience to the Abia State team.

The Abia Warriors are in 13th place on the NPFL table, with 22 points from 19 matches.

Christopher Nwaeze Joins Akwa United
Nigerian centre-back Christopher NwaezeDefender Christopher Nwaeze has left Kwara United to join Nigeria Professional Football League champions Akwa United.

Akwa United are 6th on the NPFL table, with 27 points from 19 matches.

The Nigeria Professional Football League mid-season transfer window will close by 11:59pm on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Rivers United sits at the top of the table with 42 points from 19 matches, while Plateau United are in second place with 41 points. Enugu Rangers are in third with 34 points.
