Mira Al Suwaidi elected moderator of IPU’s Forum of Women Parliamentarians

The participants of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) elected Mira Sultan Al Suwaidi, Member of the Emirati Parliamentary Division at the IPU, the moderator of 34th session of the forum, to be held in October 2022.

She was also elected chair of the first group of the forum, formed to consider the draft resolutions and topics to be added to the agenda of the next IPU General Assembly meeting.

During the meeting, its participants elected the chair of its 33rd session, reviewed its past activities related to gender equality, the forum’s activities over its past two sessions, the work of its gender partnership group, the IPU’s efforts to achieve gender equality, and the parliamentary support for the health of women, girls and children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
