LIVE: Cape Epic Prologue result – Sunday, 20 March

After eight years, the Absa Cape Epic returns to Lourensford Wine Estate, which will host a new edition of The Race That Measures All in 2022.

And what a race it will be, especially if it lives up to the prologues’ high-octane promise.

It sets the tone for the seven stages that follow, with singletracks aplenty but designed for overtaking.

Those who can lift their eyes from their stems will be rewarded with breathtaking mountain and ocean views.

The first part of the day meanders progressively uphill, raising heart rates, before the second half is jam-packed with roller-coaster downhills on immaculate singletrack.

Dual track links provide ample overtaking opportunities and allow the fastest teams to set the best possible times and secure start batches for the week of white-hot racing.
