Hawks nab man with fake US Dollars, Middelburg

A 48-year-old suspect was arrested during an intelligence driven joint operation by the Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team based in Middelburg and Crime Intelligence on Thursday, 10 March 2022 in Middelburg for Contravention of Prevention in Counterfeit Currency Act.

Intelligence driven operation led to the arrest of the suspect who was on the process of exchanging fake US Dollars with the agent, to the value of R160 000.

The suspect was immediately arrested and detained pending his first court appearance at Middelburg Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 11 March 2022.
