Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates to form new teams or NO CAF!

Minister of Sports, Nathi Mthethwa has announced a GAME-CHANGER for Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and the rest of the PSL – brand-new teams to be formed this year!

CHIEFS, PIRATES AND THE REST OF THE PSL TO FORM NEW TEAMS

Mthethwa made a game changing announcement. Set to make history and change the PSL as we know it.

“All recognized men’s clubs as for this year 2022 will be required to have a female team in their set up in order to participate in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cups,” stated Mthethwa on KickOff.

Therefore, Chiefs, Pirates and every registered PSL team will have to establish a women’s team during 2022.

That means, this year there will be trials for woman. With more clubs and schools having female team’s than ever before. Mthethwa made it clear how serious he is…

Amakhosi and the Bucs will cannot compete in the CAF Champions League or CAF Confederation Cup if they do not have a female side this year.

The same applies to the rest of the side’s in the DStv Premiership. Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu, MaMkhize’s Royal AM, SuperSport United must all form woman’s teams in 2022 if they are allowed to compete in CAF next season.

This is truly encouraging for all females who have a passion for the beautiful game. Football and sport is for everyone.

Mamelodi Sundowns are the only side in the PSL to have a registered female side and they won two successive trophies.
