The Sharks are not done signing Springboks it appears, with reports they are working on luring yet another national team star to Durban.

Following hot on the heels of confirmation Eben Etzebeth is heading for KwaZulu-Natal next season comes the news the Sharks are reportedly working on convincing Rohan Janse van Rensburg to make the move back to Mzansi.

According to Sunday’s Rapport, the Sharks have set their sights on the one-Test Springbok centre who is currently playing for Sale Sharks.

Janse van Rensburg, who played his only Test for the Springboks against Wales in 2016, joined the Sale Sharks in Manchester from the Lions in 2018.

The six-foot, 109kg, 27-year-old is seen as a missing piece in the puzzle for the Sharks who offers the kind of muscle in midfield that has been missing since Andre Esterhuizen departed the union for Harlequins in England.

Sharks set to LOSE a player too

Meanwhile, the Durban side are set to lose the services of inside centre Marius Louw to the Lions.

According to the same report, the Sharks have tried to keep hold of Louw by offering him a new four-year contract, but he is already looking for places to live in Johannesburg.

The Sharks have also in recent times signed Springbok skipper Siya Kolisi and hooker Bongi Mbonambi (both from the Stormers) as they attempt to buy their way to success on the world stage.
