In the face of the thick and cold harmattan people who are asthmatic, predisposed to allergies, Nasal infection, will experience more frequent attack due to the harsh weather.
A staff with the Clinical service Federal Medical Center FMC Yola,Doctor Boslam Lazarus Likita revealed this in his office in an interview with ABC Yola Reporter.
He said the cold is favorable because the temperature is low but is also challenging health-wise.
Doctor Lazarus stated that the implication of the cold harsh weather is that some otherwise healthy people may experience more of catch while Children could develop upper and lower Respiratory high infection, Chest infection, catch, fever and have running nose.
He advised People who are asthmatic or predisposed to allergies, and nasal infections to take necessary precaution by wearing face mask while going outdoor because the weather may trigger some health complications.
Doctor Lazarus added that those that have heart or breathing problem should take their regular medication and carry along their inhaler as prevention because the weather dusty.
He also advised pregnant Women to go for antenatal check-up and wear face mask when going out Yola and other parts of Adamawa have in these last three days been covered by thick harmattan haze with cold wind.
