Saqr Ghobash honours winners of Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award

CAIRO, 18th February, 2022 – Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), honoured the winners of the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award, during the 32nd conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Cairo.

Hamad Ahmed Al Rahoumi, First Deputy to the FNC Speaker, won the award in the category “Member of Parliament” in 2021.

Al Rahoumi, who was elected to the FNC for three legislative terms, has contributed to the council’s discussions, worked for the Parliamentary Division in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, and participated in Arab and Islamic parliamentary events, as well as in various parliamentary conferences.

The award aims to improve Arab parliamentary practices, support the legislative, regulatory and diplomatic duties of parliament, highlight the efforts of Arab parliamentarians, and advance the professional work of parliamentary secretariats.
