The Metropolitan Police are now looking closely at claims involving former Prince Andrew’s protection team.

Allegations have emerged that officers assigned to him may have ignored disturbing activity during visits to the private island of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This investigation is part of a growing focus on what went on behind closed doors on Little St James, Epstein’s secluded estate in the US Virgin Islands.

According to a former officer, certain members of the Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) unit might have witnessed abuse while accompanying Andrew but did not report it.

The officer said the team traveled with Andrew on at least two occasions, including a flight on Epstein’s infamous private jet, often referred to in media as the “Lolita Express.”

Allegations and Concerns From Former Officer

The former officer spoke publicly, explaining that there were serious questions about what the protection officers saw.

He emphasized he was not suggesting Andrew’s team witnessed criminal behavior directly involving him, but said there were worries that the team “wilfully turned a blind eye” to inappropriate actions occurring on the island.

He also suggested that loyalty to the Royal Family may have influenced officers’ judgment.

Some reportedly became “too close” to members of the Royal Family, adopting behaviors and symbols associated with royalty itself, including signet rings, and reportedly prioritizing royal loyalty over professional obligations to the police.

Background on Epstein and Accusations

Little St James Island was purchased by Epstein in 1998 and became notorious as a hub of abuse.

Multiple survivors have come forward over the years, including Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide last year.

Giuffre accused Andrew of sexual abuse on three occasions, including at the island in the early 2000s.

While Andrew has denied all wrongdoing, these allegations remain part of ongoing inquiries.

Beyond the island, police in the UK are now examining broader claims tied to the release of more than three million Epstein documents.

These include allegations that Andrew received a woman for sex at the Royal Lodge in 2010 and claims that he may have shared confidential information with Epstein while serving as the UK’s trade envoy between 2001 and 2011.

Police Investigations Underway

Multiple forces are reviewing various aspects of the case.

Thames Valley Police are looking into the Royal Lodge allegations, while Essex and Bedfordshire Police are examining flight logs from Epstein’s private jet, including departures and arrivals at Stansted and Luton Airports.

The Metropolitan Police have stated that no wrongdoing by protection officers has yet been confirmed, but initial inquiries have begun to establish the facts.

They stressed that any new allegations would be handled in the usual manner, including assessments of misconduct or criminal activity.

What’s Next?

Investigators will continue reviewing evidence from multiple angles, including flight records, witness statements, and internal police reports.

As files from the Epstein archives are scrutinized, it’s likely more leads will emerge, potentially prompting additional inquiries.

The process could take months, but authorities aim to determine whether any officers failed to act appropriately and whether there were gaps in oversight within the Royal Protection Unit.

Summary

The Metropolitan Police are investigating claims that former Prince Andrew’s protection officers may have ignored abuse during visits to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island.

A former RaSP officer raised concerns about loyalty to the Royal Family influencing the team’s actions.

Meanwhile, multiple UK police forces are reviewing Epstein-related flight logs and other documents.

Andrew continues to deny wrongdoing, and inquiries into both misconduct and criminal allegations are ongoing.
