Candace Cameron Bure Explains Why She Left Los Angeles for a Quieter Life in a Small Town

For many celebrities, Los Angeles has long been the place to chase dreams, red carpets, and the hustle of showbiz. But Candace Cameron Bure is among the stars choosing a quieter path.

The actress revealed that changes in her hometown, combined with a longing for a slower pace, were central to her decision to leave the city behind.

“I still love SoCal, but L.A. is certainly not the same since growing up there and especially since 2020,” Cameron Bure, 49, shared during a Q&A on Instagram with her 5.7 million followers.

Choosing Small-Town Life Over Big-City Chaos

Candace, who rose to fame as D.J. Tanner on the iconic 80s show Full House and later its reboot Fuller House, said that living in a smaller town brought her the kind of community she craved.

“I also love living in a smaller town where people really do know your name,” she said, clarifying that her recognition wasn’t just because she’s on TV.

She emphasized the comfort and beauty of her new home as key reasons for leaving Los Angeles.

Family Life at the Center of Her World

The actress and her husband, former NHL player Valeri Bure, 51, are parents to three adult children: Natasha, 27, and sons Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23.

Candace frequently shares glimpses of family life with her fans, discussing traditions, values, and lifestyle on Instagram and her podcast, which covers topics like family, faith, and health.

When asked about her favorite family tradition, she highlighted Sunday dinners, posting an image of a beautifully laid outdoor table filled with meats, vegetables, and fresh food.

Staying Fit and Focused

Candace also talked about her fitness routine after a fan complimented her toned look.

She revealed she’s been ramping up her workouts with heavy weightlifting four times a week, adding cardio sessions twice weekly.

She and her husband train together and she says consistent effort over the past year is finally paying off.

“Finally seeing the changes I hoped to attain on my fitness journey,” she shared.

Milestones and Memories With Valeri Bure

As Candace prepares for her 30th wedding anniversary next year, she reflected on her journey with Valeri.

They wed on June 22, 1996, but their love story began decades earlier.

“31 years ago, we went on our first official date at his practice rink in Fredericton, New Brunswick,” Candace recalled.

She added that Full House co-star Dave Coulier introduced them at a charity hockey game in Los Angeles four months before that.

She also celebrated their engagement in Paris 30 years ago and their marriage 29 years ago, calling her husband her “love and best friend forever.”

A Nostalgic Glimpse Into the Past

Candace’s reflections offer a blend of nostalgia, gratitude, and personal growth.

From leaving the bustling streets of Los Angeles to embracing the slower rhythms of small-town life, prioritizing family traditions, and staying healthy, she’s showing fans a path of balance and fulfillment beyond Hollywood’s glare.
