Princess Leonor of Spain stepped into the spotlight on Friday for her very first official visit to the Palacio del Gobierno de Navarra.
The 19-year-old heir, known as the Princess of Asturias, joined her parents, Queen Letizia and King Felipe, at the northern Spanish parliament building.
It was a high-profile appearance that mixed royal protocol with a touch of personal style.
Fashion Forward Like Her Mother
Following in her mother’s fashionable footsteps, Leonor opted for a sleek pinstripe navy suit featuring an oversized blazer and wide-legged trousers.
She completed the look with pointed sling-back heels and a matching navy handbag.
Her long, light brown hair flowed freely over her shoulders, and her makeup was subtle, with a dewy base, soft eye-shadow, and a natural lip that highlighted her youthful glow.
Queen Letizia also went for a chic trouser suit, choosing a maroon set paired with low-heeled black pumps and a red handbag.
Her signature loose hair and understated makeup provided a classic complement to her daughter’s look.
Continuing Military Training With Dedication
Princess Leonor is currently in the final year of her three-year military training, a crucial step in preparing for her future role as Commander in Chief of Spain’s armed forces, as well as Queen.
She has rotated through all branches of the military, beginning her naval training aboard the Juan Sebastián de Elcano and later traveling to New York for exercises.
Upon arrival in the US, Leonor presented herself as a poised cadet in her crisp white naval uniform adorned with black insignia.
Saluting onlookers aboard the ship, she demonstrated both discipline and pride in her duties.
Taking to the Skies in Aeronautical Training
Earlier this month, Leonor began her aeronautical training at the General Air and Space Academy in San Javier.
In a message in the Academy’s Book of Honour, she expressed excitement about this next stage, highlighting both the practical and theoretical aspects of military aviation she will now study.
Reports indicate that she may take her first flight by Christmas, marking a significant milestone in her preparation for future royal responsibilities.
Protecting Privacy Amid Public Scrutiny
This year, the royal family also took legal action to protect Princess Leonor’s privacy for the first time.
During her time in Chile aboard the Juan Sebastián de Elcano, photos of her at a local shopping centre in Punta Arenas were published by the media.
The Spanish Royal Family argued this violated data protection laws in Chile, as the images had been accessed improperly via security cameras at the shopping centre.
Palace sources described the images as “unacceptable” and emphasized the importance of safeguarding the princess’s private life.
