Shaun Alexander announces that he and his wife Valerie are expecting their 14th child while discussing homeschooling in the United States

Former NFL star Shaun Alexander is expanding his already enormous family.

On Wednesday, the 2005 NFL MVP revealed that he and his wife Valerie are expecting their 14th child.

This announcement came during a conversation about homeschooling their kids with FanDuel host Kay Adams, who happened to be the first person he told on live television.

A Growing Football Family

Alexander shared the exciting news after Adams showed a photo of his entire brood, which previously included 10 daughters and three sons.

“So we’re just now starting to tell people, but No. 14 is in the belly,” Alexander said.

“You’re the first one I’ve told on TV. It’s really wild—this will be No. 14.”

The 48-year-old did not reveal the baby’s gender or a due date for Valerie, keeping some suspense for fans.

Next Generation on the Gridiron

Football clearly runs in the family. Alexander’s eldest son and fourth-oldest child, Joseph, is currently playing high school football in Virginia.

It seems the Alexander kids may follow in their father’s footsteps, though Shaun made it clear he has a slightly different goal for his family than just sports.

Alexander’s Legendary NFL Career

Shaun Alexander retired in 2008 after nine seasons in the NFL, a relatively short career for a Hall of Fame candidate.

Yet, his accomplishments are remarkable.

He remains one of only 10 running backs in NFL history with 100 rushing touchdowns, with seven already enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Among the remaining are stars like Adrian Peterson (eligible in 2027) and Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens.

Big Families and Hall of Fame Dreams

Adams also brought up fellow NFL veteran Phillip Rivers, known for having 10 children, who is eligible for the Hall of Fame next year.

Alexander joked about the comparison, saying: “They’re slacking… I want my kids to see the Hall of Fame.

Am I asking too much?” Clearly, for Alexander, family pride and football legacy go hand in hand, and now the Alexander household is about to get even bigger.
