South African singer Lloyiso is back with a bold new chapter in his musical journey.
His latest single, ‘Scary,’ from the upcoming EP ‘Never Thought I Could,’ offers fans a deep, emotional insight into his experiences and personal growth.
Known for his soulful, heartfelt ballads about love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, Lloyiso continues to captivate listeners with music that is both intimate and universally relatable.
An Exclusive Listening Experience at The Shed Farmhouse
On Tuesday, 23 September, Lloyiso hosted a private listening session at The Shed Farmhouse, in partnership with Stella Artois.
The event gave fans and industry insiders a chance to celebrate his journey while getting a first listen to his new single, Scary.
The song serves as the lead single for his upcoming EP, setting the tone with themes of heartbreak, vulnerability, and self-discovery.
During the session, Lloyiso shared candid reflections about the track and the process behind it.
“Scary is about heartbreak, realizing that the most important part of loving someone is understanding your true self,” he explained.
The single explores therapy, self-reflection, and accountability, diving into his personal struggles and relationships.
Lloyiso shared, “When I started writing this song, I realized a lot about myself.
That’s when I began therapy and discovered it was deeper than just not showing up for someone or making mistakes.
Most importantly, I realized that I am the problem—it’s not you, it’s me.”
The Story Behind Never Thought I Could
Lloyiso first gained national attention as a finalist on Idols South Africa Season 11, wowing audiences with his soulful, powerful voice.
Since then, he has grown immensely as an artist and a person, and his upcoming EP reflects that evolution.
“It speaks about the struggles of my career since I was 16 years old,” Lloyiso shared.
Now living independently, the EP captures his lessons on hardship, identity, and perseverance while navigating life and music as a young South African artist.
Its title, Never Thought I Could, is a nod to his journey toward creative freedom—making music that feels authentic rather than confined by industry expectations.
Inspiration, Vulnerability, and Transformation
Lloyiso has also been on a personal transformation journey, both physically and emotionally.
He recently underwent a significant weight transformation, which he credits in part to learning from painful experiences like breakups.
“I’ve always been insecure about my body, but I went through a transformation and lost a lot of weight.
I’m proud of that. Going through painful experiences also helped me grow and achieve this change,” he said.
His music blends diverse influences, from Sam Smith and Amanda Black to gospel and pop, all while maintaining a strong connection to his South African roots.
“There’s something in our blood as South Africans when it comes to music,” he reflected.
Through this EP, Lloyiso hopes fans embrace vulnerability and understand the importance of sharing feelings, struggles, and stories of resilience.
Looking Ahead: European Tour and Global Ambitions
With a European tour scheduled for October, Lloyiso is poised to bring his unique voice to international audiences.
Between heartfelt ballads, personal growth, and global inspiration, he is determined to leave a lasting mark on the music world.
