Life has been full of ups and downs for Kate Gosselin, but the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star seems to have found happiness again.
After years of being focused on raising her eight children and working long hours as a nurse, Kate has quietly built a new relationship—one that’s now making headlines.
From Bodyguard to Boyfriend
The man in question isn’t entirely new to Kate’s world. It’s her longtime bodyguard, Steve Neild, who first entered her life back in 2008.
Rumors swirled about the two for years, but both denied any romance at the time.
Now, at 50, Kate is officially dating him—and reportedly living with him too.
According to insiders, things are serious. In fact, wedding plans are already on the table.
“There’s no doubt Kate is crazy about him,” one source shared, hinting that the relationship has moved into the next chapter.
Going Public in Her Own Way
Earlier this week, Kate gave fans a glimpse into her love life during a candid TikTok update.
She told followers she’s been seeing someone for about 14 to 15 months, describing herself as “super happy” and relieved not to feel lonely anymore.
Though she didn’t name Steve directly in the video, she teased that fans might catch a glimpse of him in her future TikTok posts.
A Look Back at Her Past Relationships
Kate’s romantic history has been anything but simple.
She was married to Jon Gosselin from 1999 until their highly publicized divorce in 2009.
Together, they share twins Madelyn and Cara, now 24, and sextuplets Aaden, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Alexis, and Leah, now 21.
She briefly dated businessman Jeff Prescott in 2015 and even starred in her own dating spinoff show, Kate Plus Date, four years later.
But since then, she has largely stayed away from the spotlight romantically—until now.
Life After Reality TV
Despite her TV fame, Kate hasn’t had the financial security some assumed she would. After her divorce, she spent huge sums on legal fees.
In a recent TikTok post, Kate opened up about her financial struggles, explaining that while she ensured all eight kids had college funds, attorney costs drained much of her earnings.
Now, she works as a pediatric home health care nurse, pulling 12-hour shifts at around $30 an hour.
“I feel needed and I enjoy helping,” she explained, showing pride in returning to her first profession.
Balancing Motherhood and Independence
Even with her children grown, Kate still shares her home with them at times, especially when they’re back from college.
She admitted she misses the days when the kids were little, reflecting that “at the time it felt like the days were long, but in hindsight it sped by.”
Finding Happiness Again
Now, with her children entering adulthood and her own career as a nurse keeping her grounded, Kate seems ready to focus on herself again.
And with Steve by her side, she’s stepping into a new phase of life—one filled with companionship, stability, and maybe even a wedding on the horizon.
