YAYEF launches ₦10 million scholarship initiative to support financially challenged undergraduates of Kwara State studying in Nigerian public universities

For many young people in Kwara State, the dream of attending university often clashes with the harsh reality of financial struggles. Recognizing this, the Young Achievers Youth Empowerment Foundation (YAYEF) has stepped in with a powerful solution: a ₦10 million Tuition Support Fund for 2025.

This initiative is designed to give students a fair shot at higher education, especially those who have the talent but lack the financial means to pursue their studies.

What the Scholarship Offers

YAYEF’s support is all about removing the money hurdle so students can concentrate on their studies, grow personally, and contribute to their communities.

The fund is targeted at indigenes of Kwara State who are enrolled in Nigerian public universities.

Here are the basics:

  • Program Type: Tuition support fund (scholarship)

  • Total Fund Available: ₦10 million

  • Eligibility: Kwara indigenes studying in Nigerian public universities

  • Coverage: Tuition fees for the current academic year

  • Deadline: October 21, 2025

Why It Matters for Kwara Students

In today’s Nigeria, public universities remain one of the most important routes to success and upward mobility.

Unfortunately, many students are forced to take breaks or drop out entirely because of financial strain.

This scholarship is designed to stop that cycle.

By investing in bright students, YAYEF is not just funding education—it’s helping to build the state’s future leaders, professionals, and innovators.

Two Categories of Support

The ₦10 million fund is split into two main categories, each tailored to where students are in their academic journey:

1. Campus Starter (New Entrants)

This is for fresh students, either in 100-level or those entering through Direct Entry. Applicants must:

  • Be between 16–21 years old

  • Have passed the 2025 JAMB exam

  • Show proof of admission into a Nigerian public university

Documents Required:

  • O-level and A-level results

  • UTME/DE slip

  • Admission letter

  • Proof of origin (LGA certificate)

  • A 300-word essay on “My Journey to University: What Drives Me and the Future I Want to Build”

2. Campus Achiever (Current Students)

This is for undergraduates in 200–400 level, who have already completed at least one year of study with a CGPA of 3.0 or above (on a 5.0 scale).

Documents Required:

  • Latest academic transcript or official results

  • Student ID and admission letter

  • Proof of origin (LGA certificate)

  • A 300-word essay on “Staying the Course: How I Maintain Academic Excellence and Why It Matters”

How Winners Will Be Chosen

Selection will be highly competitive.

YAYEF says priority will be given to students who can show not just good grades but also qualities like leadership, resilience, integrity, and community involvement.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted through email or phone.
