Jennifer Aniston shares her favorite cheat meals and cookbook recipes while enjoying life in Los Angeles

Hollywood’s fitness routines are often talked about in extremes—either strict diets or indulgent splurges.

But Jennifer Aniston seems to strike the perfect balance.

At 56, the Morning Show star is known for her toned figure and healthy lifestyle, but she’s not afraid to admit she has a soft spot for comfort food.

A Peek Into Her Cookbook Adventures

Aniston recently opened up about her new cookbook, Cooking With Clydeo, released on September 9.

The playful project is told through the perspective of a fictional dog named Clydeo, yet the recipes are very much for humans.

Inside, readers will find everything from hearty Mexican dishes to indulgent pizza and burgers—meals she personally enjoys on her cheat days.

Her personal favorite? Mini Enchilada Bites. “They’re guilt-free because they’re small, but trust me, they’re definitely yummy, yummy, yummy,” she told People.

Cheat Days Done the Jennifer Way

Despite her famously clean diet—low-carb, low-sugar, and high-protein—Aniston admits she treats herself.

On a night off, she’ll have pizza, burgers, or Mexican food. And if she’s out with friends, she enjoys a martini alongside a delicious meal.

Her go-to restaurants include celebrity hotspots like Nobu in Malibu and Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks.

“It’s all about balance,” she explained, never making a big deal out of indulgences.

A Healthy Lifestyle, Not Just a Diet

Friends say Aniston’s approach to health is more about consistency than restriction.

She meditates, takes hikes with her dogs, and practices intermittent fasting—specifically the 16:8 method, which means 16 hours without food followed by an eight-hour eating window.

She’s also not worried about aging or chasing perfection.

Instead, she focuses on feeling “healthy and happy” as she grows older, steering clear of cosmetic procedures.

Morning Rituals That Set the Tone

Aniston has shared that her mornings typically begin with warm lemon water, followed by either a protein shake or eggs and avocado.

Sometimes she gets creative, whipping egg whites into her oatmeal for extra protein and a fluffier texture.

She also loves stair-climber workouts and finds time to meditate daily—something she says keeps her grounded even during busy filming schedules.

Cooking With Kids in Mind

Although her book is full of indulgent recipes, it’s designed to inspire kids to have fun in the kitchen.

Amazon describes it as a “crowd-pleasing” guide with safety tips, step-by-step instructions, and funny notes from Clydeo to keep it lighthearted.

Recipes include not only her Enchilada Bites but also “Clydeo’s Legendary Lasagna” and more.

Her first children’s book, Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life, was released in October 2024, and this cookbook marks the next step in her multi-book deal with HarperCollins.

Coming soon are Clydeo Versus Peanut Butter later this year and Clydeo Makes a Friend in winter 2026.

The Famous Enchilada Bites

The star recipe from her cookbook is her cheesy, savory Enchilada Bites.

They’re made by pressing small tortilla rounds into muffin tins, filling them with cheese, onion, and enchilada sauce, then baking until crispy.

Topped with Cotija cheese and served with guacamole, the bite-sized snacks are perfect for sharing—and they take only 35 minutes to prepare.

“It’s all about making food fun and approachable,” Aniston said. “I just hope families enjoy cooking together.”

More Than Just Recipes

While fans admire her enviable size-two frame, Aniston insists her focus is on health, not numbers.

Her approach shows that balance—whether through cheat days, daily meditation, or cooking with kids—is the key to her happiness.

Even with a full acting schedule and business commitments like her LolaVie haircare brand, Aniston still finds time to cook, meditate, and enjoy life—proving that wellness doesn’t have to be about deprivation.
